10 Tips For a Perfect Bridal Makeup

Every bride wants to look her best on the most important day of her life – her marriage! To look the best, you need to follow some tips that would give you your dream look that you have always desired. Here are the 10 most useful tips to make you stand out in the crowd:

1. Avoid the sun

Before your big day arrives, you need to indulge in some heavy duty skin care regime of which avoiding the sun is vital. You do not want to look tanned on your wedding day! Sun rays can play havoc with your skin with acne, pigmentation and blotches. These are some of the common skin problems that are associated with sun and therefore, you need to refrain from going out in the daylight.

2. Select a skin and nail plan

Women who are soon to tie their knots, are suggested to plan their skin and nail plan many weeks in advance, since any last minute changes can play spoilsport on their wedding day. Select a good and reputed beautician who will be able to guide you in your skin care regime. Invest more in manicures, pedicures as well as facials with full body polishing and embellishments.

3. Have a good sleep routine with daily body massages

Always take some time off to indulge in good body spa massages that rejuvenate your mind and soul. No one wants to look like a zombie on their big day! A well relaxed massage will help you find inner peace that will have a direct bearing on your skin’s glow. One can do this at least once or twice a week and continue it or a month or two. In order to soothe your tensed nerves, you can also try consuming Green tea and can indulge in aromatherapy.

4. Choose a beautician for your bridal make up and do trials

Many times, women make the mistake of leaving everything towards the end and this poses problems later on. It is best suggested to appoint a makeup artist about 2 months in advance. Get to know the person’s credentials and the way he or she applies make up. You can opt for a trial make up round prior to your wedding. This should be done at least 1 month in advance. The artist will show you the types of bridal make up that are in vogue and will ask you to select the one that suits you. Take along your friends or cousins to give you ideas. Select the one that suits you fine.

5. Facial make up

For your wedding day, you need to appear more glamorous than you look on ordinary days. Make sure to avoid glowing and shimmering skin foundations and highlighters that will make your face seem shine overtly, thereby, creating problems in photographic sessions. The shinier you look, the poorer will be your pictures that would appear to be hazy and pale.

6. Choosing foundations

Select those that have yellowish tones as these go excellently in spot and flash photography that are commonly used in weddings. Those that have oily skins need to apply face powders that are light to cream and apply a generous dash of dusting on your face. This will control any unwanted shine. Application of blushes should be made as natural as possible with your cheekbones, nose and forehead highlighted.

7. Eye makeup

Avoid the usage of any dark or heavy eye makeup that will make you appear ghostly or ghoulish. Rather, select natural and soft colours that will make you appear more serene and pious. Do not apply dark eye shadows as these will ruin your pictures and will make you looked aged. However, it could be pleasant to use soft and pastel eye shadows that could create magic.

8. Always use brow pencils to highlight eyebrows

This is mostly needed for women who have very scanty brow growth and need some accentuation to highlight their brow area. However, avoid using colors that are softer than your hair colour.

9. Lip make up

When you are ready to walk down the aisle, make sure you do not apply dark shades like blood red or purple as this will ruin your beauty and will mar the pictures that will remain with you for the rest of your life. When applying lipstick. Always use a lip liner or pencil. Some women apply lipstick without using any lip liner and this causes their lipsticks to spread and come out of their lip area. This is only going to be ridiculed later on. That is why, I recommend using a lip liner that is of the exact colour as that of the lipstick you are applying. The use of any other colour pencil will make your lips stand out and appear cartoonish. However, one can always use dark lipstick shades only when their costumes, hair colour, eye makeup seem lighter in comparison to their lip make up.

10. Apply face powder

Incase, your skin is oily and seems to get darker after makeup has been applied, it is a good idea to touch up with extra dusting of face powder. However, make sure that you do not apply too much of it. Always carry a mirror with you to your wedding venue.
